Lee Roy Selmon's tale combines football scholarships for his parents and a commitment to the community. Selmon is the youngest of children of Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon, who took care of him at the family farm near Eufala. Two, football. He is one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. Three brothers all made All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the top lineman from the USA. For three seasons as an offensive lineman, Oklahoma went 32- 1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. He received a third scholarship in 1975. He was also selected as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon obtained a degree as a teacher. Fourth service In college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. Following graduation Lee Roy moved to Tampa where he spent nine years playing for Tampa's Buccaneers. 3 times he was selected All-Pro. Lee Roy began his professional career. The first job he had was an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked on the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized Lee Roy as one of the 10 of the most notable young men. When he was a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and was weighing 256 pounds. He captained his college team in 1975. In 1993, Roy was a part of the University of South Fla's athletic department as the associate director. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame by The GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994, as well as in the Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave the Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma awarded it.
