Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on Jan. 19. 1946 to a humble family of 12 children eventually included, discovered early that she was able to escape the hardships of her life by using a imaginative mind. Prior to learning how to read or write, she composed her own songs. In the year she turned 8years old, she purchased her first electric guitar. She started singing at the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. Her first album was recorded within the same calendar year Gold Band Records, a small independent label. While she was in school, she had already established herself in the local music scene. Her goal was to to perform at a much larger size. When she graduated from high school in 1964, she moved straight to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her first two charting albums on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated tv show was in need of an additional singer around this point. Parton joined Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing with RCA Records. Parton quit the Wagoner's band in 1974, when her solo hits such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene oversold her collaborations. The song by Parton, I Will Never Love You (for Wagoner), reached the number. 1 spot after they broke up. The song of Parton in 1974. I Will Always Love You reached No.
