
Stephanie Sigman, a Mexican-American actress. Her first role was in Miss Bala, a Mexican crime-drama film. The film also featured her in Pioneer (2013) and Spectre (2015). Sigman was the main character in Narcos (2015), S.W.A.T. (2017) and the second season of both series. Sigman was born in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico, to a Mexican mother and an American father, Lee Sigman, a New York Yankees scout from Kansas. Through her father, she is the daughter of a U.S. citizen. [2][3][4] The father of her, professional baseball athlete Kenneth Ray Sigman was her mother. Her career began in Mexican television before making her debut on film in Rio de Oro. In 2011, she played the leading role in the film Laura Guerrero in the Mexican crime drama film, Miss Bala. [6] The film was nominated as the Mexican entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 84th Academy Awards.[7][8However, it didn't make the final list. For her performance in the film Sigman was nominated in the year 2011 for the Dublin Film Critics Circle Award. She was in the Canadian documentary, Flight of the Butterflies the following year. In 2013, Sigman starred with Pioneer, a Norwegian thriller.
